Terms of Service

By creating an account or using RentMate you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

RentMate is a software platform for managing shared-living properties — hostels, messes, apartments, and similar — including member management, rent and billing records, meal systems, and chat. Each property on RentMate is created and operated by its own owners and managers (“operators”). RentMate provides the software; operators run their properties. We are not a party to any tenancy, rental agreement, or meal arrangement between you and an operator.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or threaten the security of the platform.

You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile information, documents, messages, records). You grant us the rights needed to store, process, and display it in order to run the service. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide — in particular identity information used for tenant registration and police verification. Submitting false identity documents is prohibited.

If you own or manage a property or meal system on RentMate, you additionally agree to:

• use members' personal information — including identity documents — only for managing your property (registration, verification, billing, communication) and for no other purpose;
• keep that information confidential and not share it beyond lawful requirements;
• maintain accurate billing, payment, and meal records for your members;
• comply with applicable tenancy, data, and registration laws in your jurisdiction.

RentMate records rents, dues, meal costs, and payments as entered by operators and members. RentMate does not process, hold, or transfer money. All payments happen outside the platform, and any dispute about amounts owed or paid is between you and your operator. The records in RentMate are bookkeeping entries, not proof of payment by us.

You agree not to:

• break the law or violate others' rights through the service;
• access data or accounts you are not authorized to access;
• upload malicious content or attempt to disrupt the service;
• harass or abuse other users, including through chat;
• scrape or resell the service without our written permission.

Each property receives a RentMate subdomain and may connect a custom domain. Subdomain names must not infringe trademarks or impersonate others; we may reclaim names that do. Operators are responsible for domains they connect.

We work to keep RentMate available and secure, but the service is provided “as is” without uptime guarantees. Features may change, be added, or be removed as the platform evolves.

You may stop using RentMate and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Operators' ledgers may retain billing and meal records involving your account after you leave a property, as described in the Privacy Policy.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentMate is not liable for disputes between residents and operators, for the accuracy of records entered by users, or for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (or BDT 5,000 if you paid nothing).

These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, and disputes are subject to the courts of Dhaka.

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use RentMate after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
